Didn’t intend to replace calipers in the rear, despite them looking questionable from the outside already and the e-brake mechanism being EH at best. Turns out it’s barely contacting the inside of the disc, and also very dryrotted in the dust boot for the piston, so didn’t wanna risk ruining anything by trying to compress it and fit the new discs+pads.
So, mail-order 2 new calipers from germany and postpone brakes another week ayo! Time to do valvecover gasket in the meantime to stop the oil puddling on the exhaust manifold..

I just don’t know how a complete pad would end up just wearing the center of the rotor swept area.... Uneven wear like that mystifies me.....
I don’t see how how a functioning caliper can cause that kind of uneven wear. It seems to me that either the piston works or it doesn’t.
Were the pads free in their sliders? Were the slide pins free? what did the pad look like.

Pads seemed fine but obviously untouched on the outer parts. calipers seem to work fine, since it braked on some of it. as for why or how is a mystery to me too lol, brakes are voodoo magic.

Already in the bin where they belongggg. But do need to find out if handbrake adjuster isn’t working quite right, or why the right rear drags a bit.
